We pack. You supervise with a coffee.
Professional packing adds 15% to 25% to your move price, or $60 to $80 per hour per packer if you'd rather pay hourly. A full 2-bedroom pack typically runs $400 to $900 with all materials included, and boxes cost $2 to $5 each. We quote it flat with your move, with unpacking optional.
What's included in every packing job
- All materials: boxes, dish barrels, wardrobe boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and tape. No midnight runs for more boxes.
- Room-by-room labeling: every box is marked with its room and contents, so unloading goes quickly and nothing gets lost.
- Careful fragile handling: dishes in barrels, glasses in cell dividers, art and mirrors in picture boxes.
- Wardrobe boxes: closets travel on hangers and arrive wrinkle-free.
- Coverage on what we pack: boxes packed by our crew are covered if anything breaks in transit.
- Optional unpacking: we unbox, place, and haul away every empty carton the same day.
Packing pairs with any move: add it to a local move for a truly hands-off day, or to a long-distance move, where the extra miles make pro packing worth even more.

Why pro-packed boxes break less
Dishes ride vertically in double-walled dish barrels. Plates stacked flat crack under their own weight; plates on edge don't. Glasses get individual paper wraps and cell dividers, every fragile box gets crushed-paper suspension top and bottom, and no box goes over about 50 pounds, because a box you can't lift safely is a box that gets dropped. Everything is labeled by room and contents, which sounds fussy until you're looking for the coffee maker on your first morning.
What affects your packing price
- The kitchen-to-closet ratio. Kitchens and home bars are slow (everything's breakable); bedrooms and linen closets are fast. A home with two china cabinets packs very differently than a minimalist loft of the same size.
- Books. Wonderful to own, heavy to box. A big library means more small boxes and more time.
- Art, mirrors, and TVs. Each needs its own picture box or TV crate. They protect well, but they add up, so tell us the count up front.
- How much is already done. Half-packed homes are quoted as partial packs. Just be honest about the difference between "packed" and "in piles."
The one thing to do before the packers arrive
Declutter first. Our crew will cheerfully pack anything that isn't nailed down, including, one memorable time, a trash can with the trash still in it. Every donation run you make before pack day is money off your quote and one less box to unpack. Pack a personal essentials bag too (meds, chargers, documents) and set it somewhere we're told not to touch.
