Long-distance moving with one flat, all-in quote
A long-distance move for a typical 2 or 3 bedroom home costs $1,200 to $2,500 for 50 to 250 miles, $2,000 to $4,500 for 250 to 1,000 miles, and $3,500 to $7,500+ cross-country. The price is based on inventory and distance rather than the clock, with fuel, tolls, loading, and delivery in one written number and a real delivery window.
What's included in every long-distance move
- One flat, all-in quote. Loading, driving, fuel, tolls, and delivery in a single written number, with no per-mile meter running in the background.
- A written delivery window. You know before booking when your things will arrive, and we text updates along the route.
- One crew that owns your move. The people who load your home are accountable for it until it's delivered, not a chain of anonymous handoffs.
- Full wrapping & inventory. Every piece is padded, wrapped, and checked onto a written inventory list you sign at both ends.
- Disassembly & reassembly. Beds and standard furniture come apart for the road and get rebuilt at delivery.
- Basic liability coverage. Included on every mile, with full-value protection available for the long haul.
Want the truck loaded box-perfect? Our packing crews pack for the highway, not just the hallway. New home not ready yet? We'll bridge the gap with secure storage and deliver when you are.

How long-distance pricing works
Local moves bill by time; long-distance moves bill by inventory and distance. Your inventory determines how many cubic feet you take up on the truck, the mileage determines the route cost, and those two numbers make your flat quote. That's why an accurate inventory matters more than anything else, and why we do a proper walkthrough (in person or on video) before quoting instead of guessing over the phone.
It's also why the single best way to lower a long-distance quote is to move less stuff. Shipping an $80 particleboard bookcase 1,500 miles can cost more than replacing it. Sell it, donate it, and spend the savings on furniture that survives the trip.
Delivery windows, explained honestly
Nobody can promise "Tuesday at 2 PM" from 1,800 miles away without lying a little. What we promise instead is a written window, say 4 to 7 days, plus updates as the truck moves. Dedicated-truck moves get the tightest windows because your shipment drives straight through. Consolidated moves trade a wider window for a 20% to 30% lower price. Both are honest options; we'll price both and let you choose.
Making a cross-country move easier
- Book 3 to 5 weeks out. Long-distance capacity is tighter than local, especially May through September.
- Keep a "drives with me" kit with documents, medications, chargers, a few days of clothes, and anything you'd hate to lose.
- Measure the new place. Confirm the couch fits through the new door before it rides 1,000 miles. (If it doesn't, our hoisting crew has seen worse.)
- Photograph valuables before loading. You'll almost certainly never need the photos, which is the point.
